Test and Evaluation Engineer

Scope:  Provide test and evaluation support for the entire SIMO technical division to include the MH-47, MH-60, MH-6, Unmanned Aerial Systems, Avionics, Aircraft Survivability Equipment, Sensors, and Weapons programs.  Successful performance requires knowledge of the aircraft-level qualification requirements and the ability to interface effectively with aircraft subsystems and systems developers and airworthiness qualification engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop test plans
  • Coordinate and execute ground and flight testing or test-related activities to include:  supporting testing activities at airfield or off-site, test program management, project test support, and program management for test activities
  • Coordinate test efforts with acquisition agencies including Program Management Offices, support contractors, and the ARSOA community
  • Collect, reduce, and analyze data from ground and flight tests
  • Write test reports and brief test results
  • Apply and administrate the requirements of AR 70-62 as they apply to ARSOA aircraft
  • Maintain compliance with Army Regulation 95-20
  • Participate as a member of Technical Interface Meetings (TIM), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), Test Integration Working Groups (TIWG), and System Safety Working Groups (SSWG)

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in military aviation is required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with planning and conducting flight tests
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field is required. (Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical)
  • Must be capable of participating in aerial flight in a Flight Test Engineering capacity
  • Secret or Interim Secret security clearance is required

Scope of Performance: Ordnance Workers will work in all explosive and chemical processing areas as determined by management or COR. Ordnance Workers shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements.

Mission Equipment Subsystem and System Integration Support

Scope: Provide subject matter support services for highly complex special operations aircraft (SOA) peculiar mission equipment being procured/upgraded and fielded by the TAPO, as well as US Army common mission equipment provided by the Army and being integrated and fielded by TAPO. Successful performance requires extensive knowledge of the component and aircraft level qualification requirements and ability of interfacing effectively with aircraft systems integrators and systems engineers. Mission equipment includes one or more of the following: avionics (including aviation networking) hardware and software, aircraft survivability equipment (ASE) (active radio frequency and infrared countermeasures, passive infrared signature reduction equipment, etc.), sensor equipment (electro-optical, infrared, radar, laser, etc.), and weapons equipment (machine guns, rockets, missiles, and targeting/sighting systems).

Responsibilities:

  • Provides senior technical expert level technical, analytical, and program management support for MH-47, MH-60, and A/MH-6 helicopter mission equipment programs.
  • Establishes and tracks metrics as they relate to cost, schedule and performance with each mission equipment integration effort.
  • Interprets, refines and integrates user requirements as they relate to the development process.
  • Assists in all technical reviews associated with mission equipment integration efforts.
  • Independently estimates and evaluates cost and schedule and monitors vendor compliance with stated requirements.
  • Independently identifies potential risks and suggests appropriate courses of action should technical issues arise or user requirements change.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years experience working in military aviation is required.
  • 5 years of which involved acquisition experience (supporting definition, development, qualification, and fielding of equipment) with aircraft mission equipment as required for each delivery order (avionics) hardware and software, ASE, sensor equipment, and weapons equipment).
  • Experience should include developing acquistion documentation such as:  performance work statements, statements of work, program cost estimates, technical data packages, earned value management, procurement packages, and specification compliance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in SOA is highly desired.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an aviation program management office is highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is highly desired.
  • Master’s degree in management or technical field is desired.
  • Secret or Interim Secret security clearnance is required.

  • $105,000.00 annually, negotiable based upon experience and qualifications

Level II Ultrasound Technician

Scope of Performance: Qualified Level II Ultrasound Technician who will work with explosive ordnance material. This position does not require prior experience handling ordnance, but will be trained in ordnance operation for the Mk 90 Propellant Grain Second Source Program. Applicable non-destructive test training and certification will be required. Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Use of personal protective equipment may be required.

  • Training or experience using Immersion Technique.
  • Ability to pass Explosives Handler physical and Respirator Fit Test.
  • Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification Class.
  • Sound technical skills.

  • Starting salary is $28/hour and is negotiable based on experience.
