Scope: This position will work closely with technical writers and customers to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs). Technical assignments for this position are diverse and require the ability to work with little supervision. Duties include technical documentation review, clerical editing, and copy preparation. Position requires technical writing skills and demonstrated ability in the operation of publishing/editorial software to compose text and tables, copy editing, and art work.

Responsibilities: (Not all encompassing)

  • Analyzes and reviews style and format of technical documents for compliance with Department of Defense standards, specifications, and instructions.
  • Verifies format, style, content arrangement, and other publication requirements for any technical document that does not conform to existing specifications.
  • Ensures conformance to established specifications (style, format, and publication content requirements).
  • Ensures correct use of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Prepares final documents for printing and distribution.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is desirable.
  • Secret or Interim Secret security clearance is required.
  • Knowledge of Special Weapons Ordnance Publication (SWOP) 1-1 is desirable.

Junior Software Developer/Programmer

Scope of Performance: As a part of the SIMO Software Development team, the Junior Software Developer will work with the other software developers to analyze and devise complex software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in application design and development discussions with clients, management, and other developers to determine client needs and ensure that products adhere to established specifications and standards.
  • Perform moderately complex modification, testing and debugging tasks on vendor supplied utilities and packages to ensure fit with requested operating environment.
  • Complete implementation of enhancements from vision to integration and testing.
  • Provide and maintain proper documentation related to source code, and other documentation as directed.
  • Work as part of the SIMO Software team to develop new software products in a variety of technologies and languages as directed.

Education and Experience-Required:

Mission Equipment Subsystem and System Integration Support

The job location is Fort Eustis, Virginia in support of the Technology Applications Program Office (TAPO). Scope: Provide subject matter support services for highly complex special operations aircraft (SOA) peculiar mission equipment being procured/upgraded and fielded by the TAPO, as well as US Army common mission equipment provided by the Army and being integrated and fielded by TAPO. Successful performance requires extensive knowledge of the component and aircraft level qualification requirements and ability of interfacing effectively with aircraft systems integrators and systems engineers. Mission equipment includes one or more of the following: avionics (including aviation networking) hardware and software, aircraft survivability equipment (ASE) (active radio frequency and infrared countermeasures, passive infrared signature reduction equipment, etc.), sensor equipment (electro-optical, infrared, radar, laser, etc.), and weapons equipment (machine guns, rockets, missiles, and targeting/sighting systems).

Responsibilities:

  • Provides senior technical expert level technical, analytical, and program management support for MH-47, MH-60, and A/MH-6 helicopter mission equipment programs.
  • Establishes and tracks metrics as they relate to cost, schedule and performance with each mission equipment integration effort.
  • Interprets, refines and integrates user requirements as they relate to the development process.
  • Assists in all technical reviews associated with mission equipment integration efforts.
  • Independently estimates and evaluates cost and schedule and monitors vendor compliance with stated requirements.
  • Independently identifies potential risks and suggests appropriate courses of action should technical issues arise or user requirements change.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience working in military aviation is required.
  • 5 years of which involved acquisition experience (supporting definition, development, qualification, and fielding of equipment) with aircraft mission equipment as required for each delivery order (avionics) hardware and software, ASE, sensor equipment, and weapons equipment).
  • Experience should include developing acquisition documentation such as: performance work statements, statements of work, program cost estimates, technical data packages, earned value management, procurement packages, and specification compliance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in SOA is highly desired.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an aviation program management office is highly desired.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field is highly desired.
  • Master's degree in management or technical field is desired.
  • Secret or Interim Secret security clearance is required for all types of mission equipment support except for ASE support which requires a Top Secret clearance.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $105,000.00 annually, negotiable based upon experience and qualifications.

Level II Ultrasound Technician

Scope of Performance: Qualified Level II Ultrasound Technician who will work with explosive ordnance material. This position does not require prior experience handling ordnance, but will be trained in ordnance operation for the Mk 90 Propellant Grain Second Source Program. Applicable non-destructive test training and certification will be required. Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Use of personal protective equipment may be required.

  • Training or experience using Immersion Technique.
