Welder / Fabricator

Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA is currently collecting applications and resumes for qualified candidates as a Welder/Fabricator for future potential positions. Scope of Performance: Qualified welder/fabricator to support maintenance, repair, and installation of explosive and chemical processing equipment. Technician will work in all explosive and chemical processing areas as determined by management or COR.  Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tasks may include but are not limited to routine maintenance, repair, installation and modification to existing or new process equipment.
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material - Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans. Blueprints will be used along with other data for work plans and to design welding projects
  • Have knowledge in welding such as MIG,TIG, ARC, Brazing, Flux Core, and Stick
  • Understand and have knowledge in tools used for the welding and fabricating
  • Task include but not limited to laying out, cutting, fitting, measuring and welding
  • Must constantly inspect and test welds for durability and for specific standards
  • Have knowledge of industry standards and work well with a team
  • Set up welding equipment for drawing and material specifications
  • Must be able to recognize welding symbols and specifications
  • Technician may be required to execute written maintenance procedures and document work completed on record sheets to be archived in data base.

Education and Experience – Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Sufficient knowledge of mathematics and reading schematics
  • Ability to gain Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to pass Explosives Handler physical and Respirator Fit test
  • Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class
  • 5 or more years of experience strongly desired in the field
  • Certifications in TIG/MIG/Flux Core/ Brazing/Stick/ Pipe & Pressure strongly desired
  • VT1/VT2 Level strongly desired

 

Airborne Mission Network Engineer

Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA (www.cruzinc.us) has a position open and is looking for qualified candidates for an Airborne Mission Network Engineer for the Systems Integration and Management Office (SIMO).  The job location is Fort Campbell, Kentucky in support of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and Army Special Operations Aviation (ARSOA).  Interested applicants should apply by clicking the following link: Airborne Mission Network Engineer, completing the online application and uploading their resumes.

Scope:  Provide subject matter expertise to integrate and sustain a robust, capable mobile networking system that is interoperable with current and future joint tactical battlefield networks in support of air to air and air to ground situational awareness, data/file transfer, and voice/digital communications.  This position will augment a team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available Mobile Ad Hoc network architectures.

Responsibilities: (Not all encompassing)

  • Ability to develop testing methodologies, performance requirements, data collection processes, and transform raw data into actionable information to support decision making process
  • Identify and integrate a cross network capability, interoperability, ensuring non-obsolescence of the network within the system of networks
  • Conduct capability analysis, including assessment of current and projected capabilities, and validate material solutions
  • Define operational characteristics by describing system capabilities and operational environments that may impact user requirements
  • Conduct systems integration ensuring compatibility and interoperability
  • Conduct logistics and sustainment analysis, ensuring support considerations are an integral part of the system’s design requirements
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Configure and install network devices and services
  • Configure and install various Mobile Ad Hoc Network radios
  • Perform network maintenance and upgrades: service packs, patches, hot fixes, security
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Thorough understanding of network protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS, HAIPE) and OSI or TCP/IP model

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field is desired. (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc.)
  • Theoretical understanding of and experience with mobile ad-hoc network concepts, e.g. Wave Relay, TW-400 (TSME, and 117G/152A (ANW2)
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in aviation test and evaluation
  • Secret or Interim Secret security clearance is required
  • Extensive operational experience in support of communications/networking systems desired
  • Certifications such as Network +, CCNA, CDNP, and CCIE are desired

 

 

Ordnance Worker

  • Ability to pass Explosives Handler physical and Respirator Fit Test.

Editorial Assistant

Scope:  This position will work closely with technical writers and customers to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).  Technical assignments for this position are diverse and require the ability to work with little supervision. Duties include technical documentation review, clerical editing, and copy preparation.  Position requires technical writing skills and demonstrated ability in the operation of publishing/editorial software to compose text and tables, copy editing, and art work.

  • Analyzes and reviews style and format of technical documents for compliance with Department of Defense standards, specifications, and instructions.
  • Verifies format, style, content arrangement, and other publication requirements for any technical document that does not conform to existing specifications.
  • Ensures conformance to established specifications (style, format, and publication content requirements).
  • Ensures correct use of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Prepares final documents for printing and distribution.
  • Data Entry.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency is required. Bachelor Degree desired.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Word (2007 and up) required.
  • Secret or Interim Secret security clearance is required.
  • Strong English and/or prior technical editing background desired.
